Hypothesis formation

Before we do this test, we need to state a formal hypothesis. This hypothesis needs to be stated in terms of the Null, , and Alternative hypotheses, .

Recall that we had decided informally that our hypothesis was as follows: Children in Belize are closer, on average, to their mothers than children in Samoa. How would we state this in terms of our Null and Alternative hypotheses? (choose one of the hypotheses below)
